Abstract. The article is devoted to the analysis of the phenomenon of network communication, under the influence of which the forms of interpersonal interaction within the modern society are transformed. An analysis of the behaviour of participants within the virtual group is carried out under the influence of the performed communicative role. The author’s classification of the statuses and roles of participants in a virtual discourse is offered depending on the degree of involvement and trajectory of the subject’s movement in the group. The necessity of studying the status-role distribution of users of web communities is substantiated.
