Abstract. The article presents a philosophical analysis of modern interpretations of the notion "Internet meme". The consideration of the cultural and social aspects of Internet memes is based on the assumption of their connection with the reproduction of the system of social memory. Meme is presented as an element of reality creation in the processes of generation, development and transmission of information in the dynamics of social communication. The authors indicate conditions for the spread of Internet memes and features that determine the influence of Internet memes on the consciousness, reproduction and transformation of social reality.
