FEATURES OF THE DOMESTIC PASSPORT SYSTEM ORIGIN

Abstract. The article considers the history of the origin of legal regulation of the order of residence and population transfer in the Ancient Russian state. The emergence and development of the passport and registration regime is associated with the economic and socio-political development of the state. The domestic system of passport relations begins to evolve long before the emergence of the centralized Russian state and acquires the character of police supervision of migration processes, in which the goals and interests of the state dominate.
