THE CONCEPTION OF HISTORY AND THE PROBLEM OF TYPOLOGY OF HISTORICAL WORKS

Abstract. The article considers the main regularities of the historical process representation by literary means. Both social consciousness and authorial historical consciousness as subjects of historical process reflection are defined. The basic elements of the conception of history are characterized: historicism of thinking, linear and cyclical time models, positive and negative images of the future, the teleology of the historical process, and the role of the personality as the driving force of history. The connection between the author’s conception of history and public historical consciousness is revealed.
