THE SHADOW OF OEDIPUS: SPECIFICITY OF RITUALISM IN THE DRAMATURGY OF THE OPERA BY B. BART?K "BLUEBEARD’S CASTLE"

Abstract. The article analyzes the opera by B. Bart?k, revealing the relationship of the myth-ritual triad and the symbolic arsenal of the plot in the dramaturgy. The paper proposes an approach that relates the psychological and mythological aspects of the opera in a new way. The author comes to the conclusion that the text of the opera represents the stages of a liminal ritual leading to the character’s acquisition of a new status and the exchange of standard ritual roles. The material of the study can be used in higher school courses on the history of art.
