Abstract. The article examines the concept "participatory thinking" introduced in M. M. Bakhtin’s early works. The paper proposes an interpretation of "participatory thinking" in the context of modern ("post-metaphysical") philosophy, or philosophy of event. According to the author, the basic methodological problem of philosophy of event is its non-objective nature. "Participatory thinking" in this context is interpreted as a paradoxic approach to the problem presupposing interdisciplinary studies at the border of ontology and ethics, theoretical and practical.
