Abstract. The article is devoted to studying the attitude of the liberal journal "Vestnik Evropy" towards women’s education in 1866-1917. It is shown that the authors of the journal (V. I. Guerrier, V. A. Goltsev, E. I. Likhacheva, E. N. Shchepkina) considered the problem in the context of "women’s issue" involving three key aspects: women’s socio-economic status, their professional self-realization and legal status. The paper emphasizes a systemic approach of the journal to the problem covering both synchronic and diachronic interpretations.
