THE TROPOLOGICAL THEORY OF HISTORICAL COGNITION OF H. WHITE AND ITS APPLICATION TO THE ANALYSIS OF WORKS ON THE PHILOSOPHY OF HISTORY

Abstract. The article analyzes the work of K. Leontiev "Byzantism and Slavdom", considered as a historical narrative through the optics of Hayden White’s tropological theory of historical cognition. It is concluded that the work of K. Leontiev is carried out in accordance with the synecdochic mode; the plot is organized as a tragedy (in a separate case as a comedy). Organicism is the type of formal proof; and the ideological subtext is formulated as conservative.
