Abstract. The article is devoted to revealing the ontological grounds for understanding the integrity of historical reality. It is shown that the idea of the integrity of historical reality is based on the inadmissibility of bringing reality only to the present, on the recognition of the inseparable unity of the past, present and future, and on the recognition of the ontological distinction between "what happened" and "nothing". The recognition of the status of reality over past historical events is substantiated.
