DAGESTAN TEACHING AND THE SOVIET POWER. 1917-1921: THE FIRST STEPS TO INTERACTION

Abstract. The article highlights the little-studied problem of the relationship between power and teaching in the most multi-ethnic North Caucasian Republic during the revolutionary events of 1917 and the Civil War. Through the involvement of new documentary sources it is shown how under the conditions of radical changes in the life of the Dagestan society the authorities determined the role and place of teachers in the new Soviet school system and in spreading new socialist ideology among the population. The attitude to power of various layers of the Dagestan teachers is represented in the paper.
