Abstract. In the article the results of the study of the selfhood in the methodological framework of Aristotle’s teleology are presented. The author considers the selfhood as entelechy of self-fulfillment. Revealing etymologically the notion of entelechy, the functions and characteristics of the selfhood as eidos, as a source of self-movement, as blessing are identified successively. Such functions of the selfhood as teleological, regenerative, facilitation, and value-orientation are singled out and grounded. In the work the arguments in favor of considering the selfhood as a basis for the subjectness of the individual and the authorship of his/her own life project are given.
