INTERPRETATION OF NATIONAL HISTORY AND CULTURE AT THE END OF THE 1940S - THE BEGINNING OF THE 1960S: INTERRELATIONS BETWEEN AUTHORITIES AND INTELLECTUALS (BY THE MATERIALS OF THE TATAR ASSR)

Abstract. The article examines the problem of the party leadership’s influence on the activity of the Tatar scientific and creative intelligentsia in the second half of the 1940s - at the beginning of the 1960s. Analyzing published sources and archival materials the author concludes that in the second half of the 1950s - the beginning of the 1960s there was no substantial democratization of the national culture sphere. On the contrary, the party spirit and ideological bias became the basic criteria of a "qualitative" literary or scientific work.
