Abstract. The article provides an ethical and philosophical analysis of value (values and virtues) and normative (moral code) aspects constituting the medieval chivalric ethos. The paper discovers the ethical meaning of military values and virtues, analyzes their sociocultural meaning in the context of medieval morals and relation between chivalric ethical experience and relevant ethical-philosophical and socio-political problems.
