Abstract. The article examines the "consumer’s death" problem in the modern mass society. "Consumer’s death" is analyzed in the context of death anxiety of a modern hedonistically oriented human motivated to possess a large amount of goods, for whom death means defeat and fading into absolute nothingness in the situation of permanent struggle to acquire material benefits.
