UNEMPLOYMENT AND SOCIAL PROTEST IN SOVIET RUSSIA OF THE NEP PERIOD

Abstract. The article examines the impact of unemployment on the reproduction of social problems of the Soviet society in the period of NEP existence. The reports of Information Department of the Central Committee of the Russian Communist Party/Communist Party of the Soviet Union (Bolsheviks) on a party and economic situation in the country, compiled on the basis of confidential letters, reports and summaries, received from OGPU, and also provincial and district party committees, are used as the source base for the research. The forms and peculiarities of social protest of unemployed citizens, and reaction to these actions by state authorities are revealed.
