Abstract. The article presents a review of the work by psychiatrist, Ph. D. in Medicine, regional ethnographer, deacon A. G. Komissarov "Life and spiritual heritage of the priest Pavel Dernov" (Naberezhnye Chelny, 2014, 600 p.). The book is not only biographical study of life and activity of a priest who became a victim of the first wave of murderous terror of the civil war. The publication also includes different factological materials which develop in more detail the realia of the ongoing reforms initiated by Soviet power.
