SOCIALIST COMPETITION AT INDUSTRIAL ENTERPRISES OF THE MIDDLE VOLGA REGION IN THE YEARS OF THE FIRST FIVE-YEAR PLAN

Abstract. The article is devoted to socialist competition and high-powered work practices at the industrial enterprises of the Middle Volga region in 1928-1932. Socialist competition was one of the methods to stimulate labour at industrial enterprises. Relying on archival materials the authors show the positive and negative aspects of expanded competitions at the Middle Volga region enterprises. The material and moral stimulation of labour played an important role in this process.
