Abstract. The article is devoted to the analysis of the centuries-old and multifaceted cultural relations of the peoples of Dagestan and Azerbaijan. By the example of their settlements and living quarters the author shows the mutual influence and interpenetration of different elements of material culture. The research of various forms and peculiarities of the settlements and living quarters of the good-neighbor peoples makes it possible to trace the evolution of material culture in the considered chronological period.
