"SOFT POWER" OF CULTURE: EVOLUTION OF THE CONCEPTION IN THE WORKS OF CHINESE SCIENTISTS

Abstract. The article deals with the evolution of the conception of "soft power" in the People’s Republic of China, which shows the national specificity - culture-centricity. On the basis of the analysis of the works of Chinese researchers the author reveals the principles and conditions to ensure the competitiveness of the "soft power" of Chinese culture. The idea that the studies of the "soft power" of culture in the People’s Republic of China are of fundamental, systemic and large-scale nature achieving the status of a separate scientific field is substantiated.
