FORMATION OF CONCEPT OF SOCIALISTIC TOWN AND ITS USE IN CONSTRUCTION OF NIZHNY TAGIL IN THE 20-30S OF THE XX CENTURY

Abstract. The article analyzes the evolution of the concept of a socialistic town at the beginning of the 1920s - the end of the 1930s. The application of the concept of a socialistic town by the example of Nizhny Tagil is considered. The author’s definition of the concept "socialistic town" is formulated. It is concluded that the analysis of the process of designing and constructing a typical socialistic town in Nizhny Tagil gives a splendid opportunity to examine the ontogenesis of Soviet mono-towns by the local historical example.
