Abstract. The article describes a unique ethical and psychological conception by K. D. Kavelin, which is examined with a view to identify and analyze moral ideals and values. The paper establishes relation between values and ideals, discovers the ethical content of moral values according to Kavelin, identifies the importance of Kavelin’s ethical conception for the Russian society, in particular, under the modern crisis of moral values.
