Abstract. The problem of honoring Heracles in Rome has been covered in a variety of works both by domestic and foreign authors. However, the peculiarities of the performance of his cult by the warriors of the Roman army are considered for the first time. Hercules in the dedications of the warriors acts as a patron god of emperors and their legates, as well as a god-warrior and healer. The penetration of his cult in the units of the Roman garrison is associated with both official policy and the warriors of Greek origin, who served in the Roman army. The monuments that were erected by the warriors have significant features of Romanization.
