Abstract. This article deals with the issues of determining the place and boundaries of the phenomenon of passion in the subjective reality of the man. The paper carries out a philosophical analysis of approaches to the determination of passions place in the structure of social reality. As a tool of the social-philosophical analysis the author uses a four-membered scheme of notions distinguishing proposed by S. V. Chebanov. In accordance with the results of the study the author proposes an analytical system, within the framework of which it is possible to conduct a comprehensive analysis of the phenomenon of passion.
