CREATIVITY OF TOWN AS A CRITERION OF ITS DEVELOPMENT

Abstract. This paper considers the issues of the creativity of contemporary urban space. A town, being a system in terms of the system approach, consists of a concept, structure and substrate. Creativity, as a parameter of the concept of this system, is measured by many discourses of sociocultural character: creative industries, urban brands, the possibility of personal and social self-realization. The author examines the creative tendencies of Russian towns, highlights their typology based on the parameter of creativity, indicates the range of the creative possibilities of urban spaces for the realization of their effective development.
