Abstract. The article justifies the thesis that the Russian’s ethical identity should be based on the ideas of Russian classical philosophy, which most adequately expressed the essence of its nation’s value world. The clear differentiation of good and evil, tendency to spirituality will allow answering deservedly the challenges of modernity, preserving national identity in the dialogue with the world of western culture. The fullness of human spiritual life is realized within the space of absolute ontological meanings, not in the sphere of rationalistic conventions.
