ROLE OF THE CONCEPT "MONEY" IN THE IDENTIFICATION OF A PERSON (BY THE EXAMPLE OF V. O. PELEVIN’S CREATIVE WORK)

Abstract. The article examines the concept "money" as a cultural constant, discovers the role of a concept in the identification of a person, in establishing the value orientations of the society, in the causative-consecutive relations of reality. The paper shows the symbolic nature of money in literary texts, in particular, in V. O. Pelevin’s creative work. The authors conclude that the consumer’s type of consciousness shouldn’t cause the devaluation of non-material values.
