Abstract. The article discusses the importance of tradition in social culture. Tradition grows from the approbation of certain ways of existence, thinking, behaviour by the society. Following tradition is not a dead doctrine adoption, vice-versa tradition is a foundation, on which not only culture but the whole nation exists. The culture of consumption displaced tradition therefore the fundamental crisis of values occurs.
