MILITARY RESERVES’ TRAINING WITHIN THE OSOAVIAKHIM SYSTEM IN THE PRE-WAR PERIOD (BY THE MATERIALS OF THE BURYAT-MONGOL AUTONOMOUS SOVIET SOCIALIST REPUBLIC)

Abstract. The article by the materials of the Buryat-Mongol Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic examines the activity of one of mass defense organizations - OSOAVIAKHIM - on the patriotic education of the population and training military reserves for the Red Army. The author points out that the pre-war period was marked by active search for the efficient forms of teaching military science to workers and at the same time the process of the mass militarization of the population proceeded. The paper identifies the basic trends in civil defense activity, analyzes their advantages and shortcomings.
