Abstract. The article explores the activity of Simbirsk (Ulyanovsk) mutual loan society from the moment of its revival in the autumn of 1922 till the liquidation as a result of the credit reform of 1930. The authors examine the process of the formation and development of the society, its structure, the territorial coverage of its activity. The paper analyzes the credit and deposit operations, the level of the interest rates, studies the society’s interaction with state structures.
