THE SOCIETY OF ASSISTANCE TO DEFENSE, AVIATION AND CHEMICAL BUILDING OF THE TATAR AUTONOMOUS SOVIET SOCIALIST REPUBLIC DURING THE GREAT PATRIOTIC WAR OF 1941-1945

Abstract. The article discusses some aspects of the work of the voluntary defense society of the Tatar Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic (ASSR) during the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945. Particular attention is paid to the preparation of reserves for the army of various military specialties. The author uses republican archives reserves to determine the level of the activity of the Society of Assistance to Defense, Aviation and Chemical Building of the Tatar ASSR noting as the effectiveness of military specialists’ good training the fact that a number of the graduates of the voluntary society of the republic were awarded battle honors and got high ranks in the war years.
