Abstract. The article analyzes the outcomes of the All-Union socialist competition among schoolchildren and pioneers at agricultural work in the Tatar Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic in July, 1942. Using archival material the author provides the concrete figures and indicators of the amount of the work done by the pupils and teachers of the urban and rural schools of the Tatar Republic at the state farm and collective farm fields. The paper describes the problems, which arose during this socialist competition, mentions certain measures that were taken by the authorities to involve and train the children and teenagers in agricultural labour in 1941-1942.
