Abstract. The article is devoted to studying the staff and activity of a specific provincial institution of the USSR legal system’s lower level on the basis of the micro-historical approach. Under the local conditions and within the narrow chronological framework the paper examines one of the Siberian people’s courts. Relying on the findings the authors argue for the opinion that Soviet justice in the 1930s was in the disorganized state caused by the limitedness of governmental and non-governmental resources.
