SPECIFICS OF THE MISHAR TATARS’ HETEROPHONOUS POLYPHONY

Abstract. The article aims to examine the specifics of the texture organization of the Mishar Tatars’ polyphonic tunes. The polyphony type adopted in the Mishar tradition is defined as a heterophonous one. The analysis indicated that tone correlations in polyphonic patterns are characterized by the large-scale extension of voice vertical discrepancies zones capable to reach the size of the melodic line and by the choice of accords, the assortment of which is diversified enough and is represented by the intervals from tonic to the seventh.
