BOLDZHER: FROM TRIBAL GATHERING TO ALL-RUSSIAN CONGRESS OF THE EVENK CLANS

Abstract. The article examines the traditional Evenk holiday Boldzher. Relying on published materials and field researches the author shows transformation of the national holiday. At first it was a gathering of the Baunt taiga Evenks, later on - fairs-suglans. In the Soviet period they were festivals of professional hunters, stock-breeders, deer-breeders. Nowadays Boldzher became an All-Russian congress of the Evenk clans, a festival of national culture revival.
