Abstract. Recently there has been great outburst of interest to such phenomenon as identity. We have addressed the problem of identity transformation, which manifests itself in the epoch of breaking traditions. One of scientific directions in knowledge pertaining to the humanities connects the study of the identity problem with change of the tradition role in the modern society. Analysis of the process of relationship of tradition and identity in the post-traditional world is in the focus of this work.
