EMPRESS ALEXANDRA FEDOROVNA AND ROMANTIC TENDENCIES IN RUSSIAN ARCHITECTURE OF NICHOLAS I’S EPOCH

Abstract. The article traces the origins of esthetic views of Empress Alexandra Fedorovna, Emperor Nicholas I’s wife, whose world of romantic dream was implemented considerably in New Peterhof, the Crimean Oreanda Palace design, the Winter Palace residential interiors after the fire. The author emphasizes Alexandra Fedorovna’s immediate participation in organizing large-scale fancy-dress parties in Russia and Germany, which were elements of romantic architectural space.
