PUBLIC MOOD OF POPULATION OF THE TATAR ASSR IN THE 1960S IN REFLECTION OF THE PERIODICAL PRESS

Abstract. The article analyzes the Soviet society of the 1960s through the lenses of the periodical press. The author raises the issue of interaction and mutual influence of the press and the society. Main attention is paid to application of new methods and techniques in editions work, material presentation, change in content and style of newspapers and magazines, which, in turn, did not only cause readers’ activity, but also contributed to change in moral and psychological climate in the society and growth of the population’s trust in the printed word.
