SYMBOLISM OF MANICHAEISTIC CHURCH ARCHITECTURE OF WESTERN SIBERIA

Abstract. The article provides a semantic analysis of Siberian Manichaeistic church architecture. The author analyzes originality of design, numerical symbolism. Special attention is paid to the elements of Zoroastrian and gnostic mysticism in geometrical forms and proportions of Western Siberian churches. The paper also identifies features of Manichaeistic belief in traditions of Western Siberian shamanism.
