Abstract. The article is devoted to presenting the history and giving the evaluation of the current state of one of famous in Siberia and Russia crafts - "Keser". The history of the craft reflects the main tendencies in the development of folk art in the global and regional dimensions. The products of the craft form an idea of Altai as a place of harmonious coexistence of man and nature, where synthesis of cultures takes place.
