VOCAL AND PIANO DUETS BY S. RACHMANINOFF AND ENSEMBLISTS’ TASKS

Abstract. The article examines Rachmaninoff’s romances as a new type of compositions - vocal and piano duets. The author identifies the reproportioning of vocal and piano parts, in particular, the enrichment of the piano part with vocal themes. Concertmasters-accompanists and singers-soloists establish new artistic and technological relationship, which stimulates the appearance of previously unknown professions: pianist - vocal ensemblist and chamber concert singer.
