"CAN THIS CHOICE BE CONSIDERED LEGAL?" PERCEPTION OF ELECTORAL PROCESS BY CITIZENS AT THE BEGINNING OF THE XIX CENTURY (BY THE URAL REGION MATERIALS)

Abstract. The article aims to analyze urban population’s legal culture by the materials of the conflict that occurred in one of the provincial Ural towns - Irbit - at the beginning of the XIX century. The paper covers the legal conceptions of the citizens and their implementation in a specific "local" situation - elections to the institutions of local self-government. Special attention is paid to the behaviour analysis and its representation in texts on the part of the conflict participants.
