TRANSFORMATION OF POLITICAL ISLAM IN CONTEMPORARY TURKEY: HISTORICAL DISCOURSE

Abstract. The article analyzes the epoch of the formation of political parties in the contemporary history of Turkey, in particular parties with Islamic foundation. The characteristic feature of the political life of the country is political Islam in the person of N. Erbakan and his public association "National View". The specificity of political Islam in Turkey as secular ideology consists in the fact that it periodically underwent evolution under the influence of Kemalist establishment and social-political transformations. The formation and entrance into political scene of the Justice and Development Party headed by R. T. Erdogan will mark a new epoch of political Islam.
