INTONATION AND TIMBRE PECULIARITIES OF CHANTS OF HEROES OF THE LOWER WORLD IN YAKUT EPOS

Abstract. The article is devoted to the analysis of the Yakut epic chants of the heroes of the Lower World. The chant of the hero Timir Syulyuntei from the olonkho "Yuryun Uolan" performed by the outstanding storyteller of the first half of the XX century U. G. Nokhsorov is studied for the first time. On the basis of the analysis the author ascertains that U. G. Nokhsorov expanded significantly the performing techniques and expressive means of the epic chants of the heroes of the Lower World. The research of the heritage of U. G. Nokhsorov is relevant in the light of mastering the performing traditions of Yakut epos by the new generation.
