ACTIVE REPENTANCE AS A FORM OF EXEMPTION FROM CRIMINAL LIABILITY ACCORDING TO PRE-REVOLUTIONARY LEGISLATION

Abstract. The article deals with active repentance as one of the forms of exemption from criminal liability according to pre-revolutionary legislation. The author analyzes the components of crimes, for which it was possible to release from criminal liability when the guilty person showed the signs of active repentance. In pre-revolutionary legislation active repentance was expressed either in the expression of negative attitude towards the completed offence or in giving oneself up or in the redress of wrong caused by the crime.
