Abstract. In the article ontological shift in the construction of social theory by the example of the post-positivistic methodology of science and actor-network theory is grounded. The author shows that actor-network theory assumes a special way of constructing social ontology and the methodology of social research based on the principled rejection of constructivism and reductionism, the division of the studied processes into micro- and macro-social ones.
