DISFRANCHISEMENT AS A FORM OF SOCIAL DISCRIMINATION OF THE MUSLIM CLERGY OF THE NORTH CAUCASUS IN 1921-1936 (BY THE MATERIALS OF KARACHAY)

Abstract. The article aims to analyze the practice of the disfranchisement of the ministers of Muslim religious cult in Karachay in 1921-1936, which is considered as one of the forms of the repressive policy of Soviet power. The authors emphasize that the disfranchisement of the Muslim clergy began just from the first elections that were conducted after the ultimate establishment of Soviet power in 1921 and lasted up to the adoption of the Constitution of 1936, which removed these social restrictions.
