Abstract. The article is devoted to the activity of the North Caucasian deputies of the State Duma of the Russian Empire in the solution of the problem of nationalities. Having analyzed a large number of sources, the author comes to the conclusion about the high activity of the deputies of the I and II Dumas in the development of agricultural and confessional draft laws, as well as in the solution of the problems of national culture. However, the establishment of "the third of June" model of representation in the Dumas of the III and IV convocations led to the neglect of the need for national representation in the all-imperial parliament, which inevitably contributed to the stagnation and subsequent collapse of the entire political system.
