Abstract. The article substantiates the thesis that there are no "special types of mind" or "local types of rationality", but there is a single human mind historically developing and solving practical, cognitive and any other problems by methods and means corresponding to the character of these problems. Real differences in the thoughts and ways of the activity of people are embodiments not of a multitude of "rationalities", but one and the same rationality as a universal, attributive characteristic of the social form of being.
