GLUTTONY SIN IN ARTISTIC WORLD VIEW: IMAGES OF WINE DRINKING IN HIERONYMUS BOSCH’S PICTURES

Abstract. The object of the research in this work is the images of wine drinking in the pictures of the Dutch artist Hieronymus Bosch. I. Bosch’s painting has not been considered from this perspective yet. The task, which the author has set, is to comprehend the images of wine drinking, their symbols and meaning in the creative work of J. Bosch. As a result of the analysis of the artist’s canvases the author concludes that the images of wine drinking are based on Bosch’s religious outlook, they are also a representation of national consciousness in the late Middle Ages.
