Abstract. The article examines the important aspects of the life of the inhabitants of Kostenki 11 site (archaeological horizon Ia), first of all, hunting and gathering. The author analyzes the variants of meat supply and the possibility to use various methods of hunting within specific territory. The investigation is based both on the materials of the monument and ethnographic observations. The paper also refers to the data of trasological analysis, which helped to identify the tools that were applied to cut meat.
